Now there is even more choice in TAKEUCHI® loaders
Anyone in the market for a new track loader will be interested in this latest model from the Japanese manufacturer Takeuchi. Last year, the Australian distributor Semco released a vertical lift version of the successful Takeuchi TL12 model and now is following up with another vertical lift model, the TL10V2.
Weighing in at 4,585 kilograms, performance is characterised by greater lift arm and bucket break out force, making the TL10V2 one of the most capable track loaders in its class.
Significant changes include the cross member and step positions being lowered to create improved visibility for the operator to monitor the position of the bucket’s cutting edge or functions of any attachment in use. Another thoughtful move is the flat-faced coupler body which has been rotated 90 degrees downwards to reduce the lateral pressure on the hydraulic hose connection.
Upgraded lighting
More efficiency has been given to low light working environments with a new powerful front and rear mounted powerful LED lighting package, while components often subject to damage on site, such as the visor, steps and grab handles can also be more easily replaced, thanks to being removable.
Structurally, the TL10V2 has been given a similar ruggedised treatment to the TL12V2. The vertical lift loader design features a very strong fully welded box frame, with double gussets giving extra strength and rigidity.
This model is also equipped with the largest boom cylinder of any machine in its class. Setting this machine apart from most is its purpose-built, one-piece, fully welded track loader frame, giving it the advantage of having the highest ground clearance of comparable machines. Another benefit of this engineering approach is allowing the loader arms to be kept in line with the rear pin and bushing to reduce wear and tear on the loader arm.

Purpose-built undercarriage
Unlike many machines that use a common design frame across their skid-steers or track loaders, the undercarriage of the TL10V2 and other Takeuchi models, features a purpose-built design, including performance matched rollers and idlers. This Takeuchi engineering overcomes the need for the chain case to be located underneath, as well as moving the loader arms in to accommodate tyres.
Other advanced design elements are two integrated cross-members that are fully welded to the frame and a sloped undercarriage design that assists with expediting debris removal. A double reduction planetary drive delivers the industry’s highest tractive effort and double flanged track rollers and quiet ride track design reduce noise and vibration to improve ride quality for better operator comfort.
Security and safety
For safety, there is a standard, factory-supplied rear-view camera with a large 14.4-centimetre multi-function colour display that also monitors the machine’s vital functions. Other convenience and security features include a large, lockable service hood, heavy duty steel door, bumper and integrated tie-down points.
Serviceability is another focus area for Takeuchi and nowhere is this better illustrated than on the new TL10V2 track loader. Opening the engine hood reveals excellent access to all major service points such as filter, hydraulic components and the steel hydraulic tank. There is a side by side cooling pack which gives expansive air flow across both radiator surfaces. Removing two bolts lets you swing open the door to allow cleaning from either side, as well as providing access to the fan and daily service points.
Designed for operator comfort
The cab has also had a major redesign compared with the earlier model. As well as increased all-round visibility, radio and air conditioning controls are within easy reach. There’s a deluxe, high backed suspension seat, with the operator flanked by sealed rocker switches along each side for convenient loader functions. A hydraulic lock isolates loader functions when the arm bar is raised or the key is in the off position. Like all Takeuchi machines, full pilot controls are standard for precise and positive operation.
A unique Takeuchi feature is the heavy-duty roll-up door. This allows the operator to run the machine with the door up or down, regardless of the position of the loader arm. Unlike a swing-out door, Takeuchi’s heavy roll-up door enables the operator to exit the machine even if loader arms become stuck in the up position.
