It’s no secret that a safe, comfortable and responsive work environment can add to greater productivity in the earthmoving business.
Recognising today’s demand for safety, combined with comfort, ease of operation and responsive controls, Takeuchi says its new TB228 full hydraulic compact excavator has been designed for stressfree, day long operation.
A high visibility certified ROPS/FOPS cabin that is 12 percent wider than its earlier models is mounted on an isolation platform to minimise ground-effect vibration. Further comfort is delivered in the form of a multi-adjustable suspension seat with large, adjustable arm rests and a retractable seat belt.
For added convenience, the gas strut assisted window rolls upwards. Other operator amenities include conveniently located cup holders and storage compartments.
The excavator’s more positive and smoother ground engagement has been achieved by short pitch rubber tracks and double flanged track rollers that increase roller to rail contact. Working controls include a proportional auxiliary hydraulic control; push button decel system; a conveniently located twospeed travel switch; two-speed travel with automatic step-down travel motors and cushioned boom swing cylinders.
In addition to a cast iron wrap-around counterweight to protect the engine compartment when working in confined areas, there are front and rear lights; a spring applied, hydraulically released wet disk brake for travel and slew motors and audible and visual warnings for abnormal conditions.
There is a large range of options for the TB228 excavator to cater for different applications. Some of these are additional service ports, dual air filter element; boom and arm holding valves; steel crawler, control pattern selector valve and an arm-in restriction system.
