Population growth on the Central Coast of New South Wales has meant more wear and tear on local roads and a heavy workload for local works contractors.
Stan Davies Excavation depends heavily upon reliable equipment to manage a demanding workload for assignments from Lake Macquarie Council, Newcastle Council and various other locations in the Hunter Valley.
“We recently purchased a Takeuchi TB138FR excavator from Semco. We have had many similar machines over the years, but our latest machine is great to work with and extremely reliable. We have tried other excavators but we’re back with Takeuchi because they are just a brilliant machine,” Stan said.
The Takeuchi TB138FR allows operators to work in confined spaces too small to efficiently operate many conventional excavators. With its unique hydraulic offset boom and full zero swing for 360 degree rotation, the TB138FR works almost within its own track width.
This feature allows the excavator to work effectively between two walls for tasks such as digging a hole at the front and loading a truck at the rear.
“Many of the sites on which we work have quite tight access so maneuverability is a major consideration. We really find the side shift incredibly useful,” claims Davies. “Our operator has become somewhat an expert in this area and appreciates the cab with its generous legroom. All controls are well-placed and makes work a pleasure.”
