Engineering design that’s truly responsive to the needs of operators

Double swing excavator

In an ideal world, the tools available to earthmoving contractors would have loads of power to tackle almost any task; be extremely manoeuvrable, compliant with the most stringent engine emission requirements and be comfortable enough for an operator to work efficiently all day long in any climatic conditions.

Some construction sites are not easy to access and manoeuvre the heavy equipment needed to get the job done, however the latest excavator release from Takeuchi, the TB2150, is a totally different design that will tick most of the boxes for the “wish list” of experienced earthmoving contractors.
The most obvious feature of the Takeuchi TB2150 excavator is the incredibly solid and massive steel casting of the heavy duty swivel mechanism that provides high precision control of the boom which is able to be swung in either direction, while keeping the cabin stationary to enable the operator to maintain focus on the job to position the stick and bucket.

For a “midi” size machine, the attention to engineering is apparent on this model and would be at home on excavators of much higher weight and power capacity.
From an operator’s viewpoint, the hand rail is in the perfect position to ensure safety when accessing the machine’s upper deck, although the machine is designed for ground-level servicing.

The all-new cabin is a superbly appointed and highly practical operator’s control centre, designed to ensure clear and uno

bstructed visibility of the work zone without the operator having to alter the viewing position. At the back, a smooth rounded profile counterweight further improves visibility.

There’s also an entirely new console screen display which incorporates a camera and integrated warning which shows flow and pressure adjustment. Hydraulic flow may be selected to suit whichever attachment is being operated at the time and the settings are stored in memory for rapid access when needed.
Power is provided by a gutsy, yet super-quiet Deutz TCD 3.6 L4 engine and which is rated at Stage IV/ T4 Final, with an output of 85 kW. Digging depth is 5,445 mm with a maximum reach of 8,760 mm.
Other practical and well considered benefits of this 16 tonne operating weight machine can be seen in the three sets of auxiliary service piping provided. Two of these feature modulated proportional control, with the main being programmable for both flow and relief pressure to perfectly suit different tools and attachments.
It’s not often all these features are seen in a CCF Class 15, sub-2,500 mm excavator package that is portable unrestricted. More information on the Takeuchi excavator range is available at or call 1800 685 525.
